Is it time for the Rams to fire Mike Martz?

I am one who believes the Rams should fire Mike Martz. In fact, I believe he should have been fired after the Carolina playoff game. Mike Martz has lost this team. This team lacks discipline, as they constantly have untimely penalties. Martz shows his laissez faire attitude with the way he handles disciplinary situations such as with Leonard Little or Orlando Pace's annual holdout. Do you think Bellichick or Parcells would put up with that crap? Maybe Brenda Warner had a point blasted this guy. Martz use of timeouts and challenges is the joke of the NFL. Even his hiring decisions are not only questionable but downright stupid. They can't even hire a special teams coach who is capable of having 11 guys cover a punt or even return a kick past the 30 which under Vermeil was a definite strength. When Lovey went to the Bears, Rams lost their best coach. Martz had a chance to bring in someone to continue a strong defense but instead brings in fired Arizona Cardinal defensive coordinator Larrie Marmie. What a joke? He doesn't philosophically agree with cover 2 defense though all the personnel is geared towards it. Martz got this job based on his offense in 1999 but I think he is even doing a poor job in what he is supposed to be a genius. When was the last time the Rams threw the ball deep or took a chance on offense. Parcells and Bellichick who are conservative coaches call a more agressive game now than Martz. I can think of 12 or more head coaches who would have won at least 1 or more Super Bowls with this team. I hope that the Rams Brass see that it is time to get rid of Martz win or lose after the season as I don't think this team will be an upper echelon team again in the NFL until they do fire him and bring in an established head coach who believes in discipline. Any thoughts?

I agree he is a joke and should get fired but I also think its funny how everyone thinks of the rams as the rams of 99 still. They just aren't good anymore. They are 8-8 9-7 team at best. Just bet against them and if they continue to play like garbage I can care less who the coach is.

I new he was a crappy coach in the 2001 Super Bowl when he decided not to make Marshall Faulk the focal point of the offense. Marshall was unstoppable still at that point in his career. Instead, Bellichick played Martz's ego perfectly. Then the Panther game was down right laughable last playoffs.

Georgia Frontierre deserves it though. Clueless owner, clueless coach. Perhaps she can bring John Robinson back for a third try.

You wonder how much he has to do with all the turnovers. Last night after a sack left them 2nd & 19 at the 1, he called time-out. You would think with time to analyse the situation he would put in a safe play, instead Bulger gets sacked again, fumbles and thats when the game was lost. Also down 34-14 with 3.24 to go, he decides to punt on 4th & 4.

bingo. that should have sealed his fate. he admitted that he lost track of the score of the game in the 4th quarter. how the hell do you do that? that is totally unacceptable and unforgivable.

Bulger confirmed afterwards that they were going deep on that play. From inside the 1 he's going deep. Plus, Martz throws the reg flag after the play to challenge, saying it wasn't a fumble. The ref has to come over and tell him that even if it wasn't a fumble, it was an interception.
